Birth Doula Support
Doula Services
Having a baby is one of the most important moments of your life. Choosing to have someone knowledgeable by your side during the entire labor and birth is a decision you will appreciate for years to come.
So what is it like to have a doula?
The first step is a free consultation. This is a time where we can talk about your pregnancy, previous births, what you envision for your upcoming birth and all about doula support. Once you decide you want me to be your doula, my services start as soon as you sign the contract! At that point, I’m available by text, phone call or email 24/7.
Prenatal visits are included in each birth doula package. These are educational sessions to discuss topics like what to expect during labor and birth, comfort measures and your birth preferences.
Two weeks before your estimated due date, I’m officially on-call! We’ll keep in close contact until you go into labor, and when you’re ready for me to join you, I’ll head your way. One of the best parts of having a doula- I stay with you and your partner during your entire labor and birth. I’ll be with you to offer massage, breathing techniques, positioning, and to help your partner get involved.
Once your baby is born, I’ll stay up to two hours after delivery to check on you and help establish breastfeeding. Once you’re home and settled, I’ll come by for a postpartum visit. We’ll take time to process your birth, and I can answer any questions about postpartum or newborn care.
